Swallow by neeka Swallow by neeka
Let me start by saying I am VERY hesitant to post these pictures.
This collection took me months to complete; they're pretty much my babies, and I want to share them with you.
As for how long they'll be up, I'm not sure. I'm very nervous!

PLEASE do not copy/ steal my work. ;__; <33

All are done with Prismacolor colored pencils.

Lemme hear what you think they mean <33

wow.... this whole collection is absolutely breathtaking. I adore the simplicity of the titles and the correspondence of the artwork to create an ultimately profound and beautifully spoken concept. You're creativity and technical ability are crazy off the charts amazing. Glad I came across you're artwork :) its really inspiring.

You've got some kickass skills with markers, honey *is awed* and I love that her skin is so white. Makes a good contrast to her dark hair.

okay... i'm having trouble trying to see what this illustration might mean! so i'm going to really go out on a limb and say....

she is a bride! hence, she is all white, which symbolizes the purity of a bride and her chastity. the red ribbon around her hand... in some cultures, a red ribbon may represent the tie between lovers, but here the ribbon ends and fades. i come to the conclusion that her lover has died. the wrinkles behind her are the sheets of her marriage bed, which is incomplete without her lover. the black leaves of the flowers represent her mourning for his death. i still don't understand the meaning of the red cracks or blood on her arm...

but hey! it's worth a shot, right?

I absolutely love all your interpretations of my work. : ) I'm happy to know they've sparked stories in your mind.
This picture is actually representative of the AIDS virus. The red ribbon around her wrist is the official AIDS ribbon, ((like the breast cancer ribbon)) and it is pulling her away. The marks on her arm are track marks, which she attained the sickness from. Her fingertips fade into the background as an effect of nerve loss, a symptom of the virus, and her hair is fading to white as another side effect.

All in all, this picture is hard, if not impossible to figure out without an explanation : ) But I love your story as well. You have a very creative take on all these pictures.
